Gordon Place

Dwell has owned property on Gordon Place for a number of years, and now we’ve purchased the adjacent property, giving us a unique and exciting opportunity. Together these 3 parcels of land offer Dwell a chance to add well-designed medium density community housing to the wonderful suburb of Newtown.

Dwell has again selected the team that led our successful developments in Kilbirnie. With Novak + Middleton on architecture duties and Wilson Commercial involved from the beginning with building advice, these homes will be beautiful, well-built options for those in need of a secure home in a well-resourced neighbourhood.

Our current design shows a total of 26 homes of various sizes, many having accessibility features to allow independent living. All residents will enjoy a green and sunny communal space in the heart of this new village to gather, play and dream.

December 2024

This month, Dwell completed the purchase of buildings previously owned by the Wellington City Mission at 19 Gordon Place. The below images show the ‘handover of the keys’.

We were thrilled to go on a tour of the Wellington City Mission’s new building, Whakamaru, and hear the stories of the success and opportunity this new location brings them.

And this frees up their original site for the new purpose of safe, healthy, affordable homes for the community. Both organisations are delighted that the land will continue to support the community and add to the social fabric of Newtown.

Dwell continues to work with our team to achieve a Resource Consent for this project. Building new community homes takes bold action and we welcome your support.
